My Twin-story: Manasa and Shareera

Dear readers,

It’s been a while since I blogged.

Nevertheless, I am thrilled in unravelling my twin children: Manasa and Shareera.
(Leaving their gender to decide for themselves later; for now it is “she”!)

It’s been quite a journey trying to understand and raise them with quality. Still a long way to go!

Manasa is predictably unpredictable. Bundle of varied emotions.
A born leader - smart enough to get things done from Shareera!
Intellectual. Creative. Over imaginative - sometimes out of reality.

Manasa becomes super naughty if not consciously taken care!

Shareera - a Lover of physical activities. Strong. Intuitive. Brilliant, action oriented Doer;
However, heavily influenced by Manasa.

If not taken care consistently, Shareera becomes weaker with time easily.

When they yearn for junk food, like all parents, I heed to their tasting buds and let them enjoy. However, driving them to healthy track soon.

Some days, Shareera may totally avoid food, Manasa joining her lead. I let them be in fasting mode. For they become energetic again through detox.

As with all twins, one cannot live without the other. Both  complement each other beautifully (if only in harmony ofcourse! :) )

Whenever Manasa gets into distress, it leads to sleepless nights.

Eventually affecting her twin Shareera, though she’s less emotional.
Resulting in starvation, stress eating or disturbed sleep.

Sometimes when Shareera falls sick, Manasa is trapped into dullness.

Ultimately, together they make each other either weak or strong based on their state.

Does it resonate with your life in anyway?

Manasa and Shareera are not just my children. Neither did I give birth to them. They are the children *within* each one of us.

Manasa - the mind. Shareera - the body.
I - the parent - Athmaa (soul).

I, the (ath)maa, am dutifully bound:
To learn constantly in graceful bring-up of the “children” within - body and mind;
To enable them to coexist fittingly in perfect health and emotional balance;

I fail to take care of them sometimes.
Many a time, I am lost in deep dark jungle without any directions.

My Appa’s (dad) voice echoes back at those times -“No man is an island”

That is when I resort to:
Inner Tools;
External Support System (it is ok to be vulnerable);
Universe’s Abundant Life Force Energy.

When Manasa is treated with love, inner tools or external support,  Shareera is  untangled from the mess. And vice versa.

Nourishment via healthy food, exercising and psychological/spiritual tuning are all they need during tough times.

I, the athmaa, am not perfect just like any parent.

I am a work-in-progress:
Striving to get better every single day;
By nurturing a robust body (Shareera) and a serene mind (Manasa);

Consequently rendering a valuable, enjoyable company for the world around.

P.S -  Described characteristics of the children may make more sense now :)

What are your methods to up-bring your inner children?

Yours Soulfully,
Gargi SMARam 🌟💫
